NZ motorcycle fans will be able to live the action of the legendary 2010 Isle Of Man TT motorcycle race in stunning 3D when TT 3D: Closer to the Edge opens in cinemas on August 25. The film marks the year anniversary of the death of kiwi rider Paul Dobbs on the same, most treacherous and gut-wrenching course in the world.
The film is narrated by Jared Leto of ‘30 Seconds To Mars’ fame, and charts the world-famous Isle of Man Tourist Trophy motorcycle race that takes place on the Isle of Man every year. For more than Сто years riders have flocked to the Isle of Man in search of thrills, glory and triumph in the TT, and since the race began over 200 people have made the ultimate sacrifice in their quest for victory.
Shot with the latest 3D technology, the film follows the racers' reckless dedication and the extreme risks involved in their Бид to become "King of the Mountain”. Along with thrilling 3D coverage of the races, TT 3D: Closer to the Edge EDGE also explores the very human story behind the visor: the danger, tragedies and dramas of the courageous men and women who dedicate their lives to the challenge of the TT as they mentally and physically push themselves beyond their limits, in the world's greatest motorcycle road racing event.
Some of motorsport’s greatest stars feature in the film. Guy Martin's appearance is notable as the maverick with a unique take on life. John McGuinness appears, a racing legend and the most successful living rider, winning the TT 15 times. Conor Cummins is one of the Isle of Man’s most prominent stars, truly living the dream. In the film, Ian Hutchinson is a relative newcomer whose career has invited interest. In 2009 “Hutchy” won two TT's in one day and the North West 200 in Northern Ireland as well as competing every week at the top of the British Superstock Championship.
The film also introduces Bridget Dobbs, mother of two and widow of kiwi racer Paul Dobbs (“Dobsy”) who tragically died in the 2010 competition, while the film was being shot.
The movie opens in cinemas across NZ on August 25. The 2011 Isle Of Man TT motorcycle race was held earlier this month.
